आयुषो वेदः आयुर्वेद:|
Ayurveda is the science of life.
It is a comprehensive system of health based on principles that are observed in nature, in the universe.

The same principles have laid the foundation of so many ‘advanced’ fields such as biology (theoretical), surgery, plastic surgery, quantum physics, metrology, interdisciplinary theories and their studies (Systems theory), behavioral sciences such as psychology, psychobiology, anthropology, and cognitive science, pathogenesis, causation, time, qualitative and quantitative approach to analysis and so many others.
This medical system has been practiced in the Indian subcontinent for around 5000 years. The origin of Ayurveda can be traced back to around 6000 BCE. It has stood the tests of time for the past several centuries. Change of dynasty ruling, foreign invasions, destruction of its vast ocean of literature, modernization, plagiarism are a few events to ponder upon.

Basic principles of Ayurveda are used to maintain a subtle balance of the state of mind and body in order to attain a state of well-being. The reference texts are well documented with reference to biochemical nutrition, pathology, diagnosis, and treatment in the form of herbal, mineral and herbo-mineral pharmacology.
The aim of this page is to make the younger generation aware of the rich heritage that has been passed on to us.
Do not self medicate. Always consult a doctor.
